Since 2013, OneAfricanChild Foundation has partnered with schools and communities across Nigeria to make this vision a reality. Through Nominate My School, we invite teachers, educators, school leaders, parents, students, volunteers, and community members to nominate schools that could benefit from impactful learner-centered programs.
What is Nominate My School?
Nominate My School is an opportunity for schools to be considered for educational visits and skill-building sessions facilitated by OneAfricanChild Foundation. Through a simple nomination form, individuals can recommend a school and share why they believe learners would benefit from our programs.
Our goal is to identify schools where learners can gain practical skills that complement classroom learning and prepare them for life, leadership, and the future.

I have discovered that many students fail chemistry exam due to
lack of access to practicals: most public schools lack labs, so student memories without seeing reactions.
And if this issue can be rectified, it would reduce the ‘chemistry is hard’ mindset.
Nomination: Government Day Secondary School, Fate, Ilorin | GDSS Fate
Government Day Secondary School, Fate is one of the largest public day secondary schools in Ilorin South LGA, Kwara State. It serves a mixed population of students from low- and middle-income families across Fate, Akerebiata, Sabo-Oke, Zango and surrounding communities.
Why GDSS Fate should be reached by the NGO program:
High Student Population and Limited Resources: The school has up to 1000 students but faces gaps in science labs, career guidance, and digital learning tools. An outreach here impacts a large number of youths at once.
Conclusion:
Nominating GDSS Fate means this NGOs resources will reach almost 1000 vulnerable but motivated youths in Ilorin, with long term impact on education, tech and environment in Kwara state. It’s a high impact, high need and high-visibility location.
From this initiative, it is my belief that any support invested in every nominated school is a seed that will grow to make a difference in the lives of the school learners over time.
