VOLUNTEERS TUESDAY: MEET TOBI BAMUYIWA
Tell us about yourself
Bamuyiwa Oluwatobi Michael is an entrepreneur, fashion designer, logistics and media practitioner. A Yoruba degenerate from Ondo State and resident in Lagos State, he loves art, friendships, and faith among other life eccentricities.
He’s a ‘scrapper’, always trying to piece things together so he likes finding the solution to every problem he encounters.
Likes and Dislike
Tobi has always believed in respecting everybody and their differences. He loves everything good and godly then would inquire about any questionable traits before choosing to dislike them because everyone deserves a fair hearing.
He is working on becoming a household fashion brand in Africa among the youth with the aim of encouraging creativity and positivity as well as being a mass market brand.
How did you learn about OAC and the reason(s) for joining?
He met with the founder of OAC via social media in 2012 and ever since has been a member after the dream was sold to him and since he’s passionate about education, he has always wanted to help the unattended folks in the society. Since inception, he’s held roles significant to both the organisation and activism.
Experience so far
He loves what he does for society and has shown that with the positive energy he brings to the team and volunteering.
Best moment(s) in OAC
Tobi doesn’t have a highlight or best moment since he measures impact by the effect the organisation makes which is always the same every time.
What do you think of OAC in the universe?
OAC is a needed force in the world today and having more volunteers like us will make the world better and we can achieve SDG4.
In his parting words, he asked, “Do you know the dog barks at both friend and foe? But the Dog doesn’t bite everybody.” “Why? It is enlightened”.
A lot of uneducated people will increase unless we do something about it.
